The diversity of nature and cultural life of Nepal in one trip
The journey begins on the day you arrive to Kathmandu. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the booked hotel. This is Day 0, a day of rest after the flight and moral preparation for the upcoming trekking. You can take a walk around evening Kathmandu, take a look at souvenir shops for further buying gifts for friends and have dinner at a local restaurant to appreciate Nepalese cuisine.
Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (time 6 - 7 hr) altitude 830m
The next day, after breakfast at about 6:30 we have a trip to Pokhara on a tourist bus. Instead of a bus, you can take a private jeep, this will increase the track cost by $ 140. If you don’t want to spend so much time on the road, you can take a plane. In this case, $ 270 should be added to the cost of the trek. Airport transfers are included in this price.
This scenic route offers breathtaking views of rural Nepal, on the way through the Middle Hill you will see the famous Trishuli River originating in Tibet, northeast of Kathmandu. We will arrive to Pokhara the same afternoon.
Day 2 Pokhara - Naya Pool trip (1.5 hours), trek to Ghandruk (5-6 hours), altitude 1950m
After breakfast we will drive along a zigzag road through the middle hills to Naya Pool and there we will begin our trek to Biretanti, a thriving coastal village on the Modi River, which carries meltwater from the southern Annapurna glacier to the Ganges. You will go up the river through terraced rice fields to Xiauli Bazaar, then cross the suspension bridge and climb to the platform, which offers a breathtaking view of Machapuchare (Fishtail), Hyunchuli and southern Annapurna. You will go around a huge stone landslide along a long stone staircase and climb up to the beautiful village of Ghandruk with a magnificent view of the valley gorge and the path that we will climb tomorrow.
Day 3 trekking Ghandruk - Chomrong (5-6 hours), altitude 2210 m.
The route runs north of the village along an open path that passes pastures to a mountain range, and then descends into a green valley and a suspension bridge over Kimrong Khol. After lunch, the trail rises from the valley and passes through rhododendrons and oak forests, meandering around the hills to Chomrong, where you can enjoy views of the giant peaks from a closer distance.
Day 4 Chomrong - Bamboo (4-5 hours) altitude 2310m.
After breakfast we will cross Chomronghola and climb to the charming village of Sinuwa. After that we will enter the upper reaches of the Modi-Hol valley through dense forests of reed, rhododendron and oak. It rises and descends to the village of Bambuk (2,310 m) on the banks of the river - an ideal place for lunch and acclimatization.
Day 5 Bamboo - Deurali (3-4 hours) altitude 3230m.
After acclimatization and recovery, we will hike through an uninhabited forest to Dobhan and then cross several avalanche gutters before we reach a small village with the famous Himalaya Hotel. With increasing altitude, the forest gives way to alpine shrubs and grasses. The walls of the valley are aggravated, and the river is raging far below. We will explore the cave in Hinka before crossing the ravine and the main avalanche trail on the way to Deurali.
Day 6 Deurali - Annapurna base camp (5-6 hours), altitude 4130 m
Breathtaking views of the Annapurna Sanctuary gradually open as the trail rises above the ridge to the Machapuchare base camp (3,700m). Another two hours of slow walking along the grassy slopes will lead us to the Annapurna base camp on the Annapurna glacial moraine, under the peaks crowning the surrounding ice walls.
Day 7 trek Annapurna Base Camp - Bamboo (7-8 hours), altitude 2310m.
If you get up before dawn, you will be gifted with unforgettable views and the opportunity to take pictures at the edge of the glacier. The ring of mountain peaks from Hyunchuli, Annapurna, then south to the vast ice wall crowned by Annapurna I (8,097 m / 26,566 ft) is closed by Kangsar Kang, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Mahapuchuhara. This is what you need to see at least once in your life! The beauty of this moment will remain with you forever!
After breakfast, we will slowly return to Bamboo to spend a comfortable night.
Day 8 trek Bamboo - Jhinu Danda (5-6 hours), altitude 1760m.
Today's route descends to Chhomrong Khola, and then climbs the stairs back to Chomrong. Then it abruptly descends to Jhinu Danda where we will have lunch and swim in the hot springs by the river under the village. Today is one of the easy days. After lunch, we will go down to the hot springs to take a natural hot bath, which will cure muscle pain after a week's hike. In the afternoon we will walk another half hour uphill to Jhinu Danda to spend the night there.
Day 9 trekking Jhinu Danda - Naya Pool (5-6 hours), trip to Pokhara (1.5 hours), altitude 910m.
This is probably the easiest day of the trip. The trail from Jhinu to Naya Pool is mostly flat along the Modi River. The trail passes through the New Bridge, the village of Kyuimi and the bazaars of Xiauli, Chimrong and Biranthati, we walk through the rice fields and green hills before completing our trip to Naya Pool. From Naya Pool you will be delivered to Pokhara by private car. Enjoy another night in this beautiful city before we travel to Kathmandu to end this magical adventure.
Day 10 Pokhara - Kathmandu trip by tourist bus (6-7 hours), 200 km
After breakfast, we will go to the tourist bus station and from there, at 07:30 we will have a bus ride to Kathmandu. It is planned to arrive in Kathmandu around 14:30 -15:00.
If you choose a private jeep, then we will make the return trip on it, if we prefer a plane, then you will take a flight Pokhara - Kathmandu.
Day 00 End of the journey
We will take you to Kathmandu International Airport for your flight home.

Security
No. You cannot drink the water from the tap or streams in Everest. Mineral water is available on the trail. It is expensive to buy (perhaps 10 times more than in Kathmandu). You can use a water purifier or SteriPen.
Be aware. Elevation on this trek will exceed 3,500m. The possibilities of getting altitude sickness generally start at this elevation. But in order to avoid this, as much as possible, we have designed the itinerary in such a way that it will give you enough time to acclimatize.
There is no knowing who will suffer from altitude sickness. It does not follow that the younger and fitter people will not get altitude sickness where the older and less fit will. It is not related to (general) fitness or age. Talk to your doctor at home. There are prescription medications which help avoid the onset of altitude sickness. But above all, go slowly, listen to your body, be aware of any changes, and listen to your guide if he feels you are showing symptoms (which you might not notice).
We will collect your travel insurance policies and details before the trek so that in case of an emergency we can coordinate with your insurance company and the helicopter providers for evacuation.
First aid. On every trek we will carry a first aid kit. We also recommend you carry your own. Here is a checklist recommended by Karen Anderson of things you should bring. Vaccinations are not compulsory in Nepal but to be on the safe side we recommend you comply, where possible, with this list provided by again by Karen Anderson (medical doctor in New Zealand and friend and client of Magical Nepal).
Yes. Magical Nepal only provides insurance for our own staff. We recommend you buy insurance in your country. Note: Insurance should cover you for the altitudes you are trekking at (not all do). We recommend World Nomads.
Equipment
Click to download LIST OF NECESSARY EQUIPMENT
Yes, bring your own or you can rent it or buy it in Kathmandu. Renting a sleeping bag in Kathmandu will cost you $1 or $2 per day. To buy a new sleeping bag in Kathmandu expect to pay around $150 to $200 for one of medium quality.
No. The trails are well marked. Unless you go in mid-winter you will not need crampons. Instead of crampons, carry micro spikes which are not technical, lightweight to carry, cheaper and fit any shoe size.
If you forget something it might be extremely hard to find here. Please check here for an exhaustive packing list for (general) trekking in Nepal. If you are not a frequent hiker, you can rent most of the trekking gear in Nepal when you arrive.
No. There are teahouses along the trek. We will not need tents or mattresses.
Anything you don’t want to take on the trek with you can be stored at your hotel or in our office. We suggest you ensure your bag is lockable.
Guide
We use local guides. On each trek our guides have been to the relevant areas numerous times. All are experienced, knowledgeable, flexible and authorized licensed guides with the Government of Nepal.
Preferable. If you use a porter it has double benefit: you can fully enjoy your trek without carrying a heavy bag, and its improves the income of the local community.
20kg. On average a porter can carry 22kg including their own backpack. So, they can carry up to 18kg of your gear and equipment. We provide backpacks for porters.
Yes. At Magical Nepal we make sure all our staff are well insured.
We ensure all our guides and porters have proper gear, are well equipped and protected. This is for their own wellbeing and for the wellbeing of our clients.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Water
Is tea included in meals? Or is it paid separately, like water?
I found that there are water bottles with a built-in filter, or it’s easier to throw chlorine dioxide tablets into water. And where to get this water on the route?
Answer
Tea is included in the breakfast.
You can buy water on the route - in tea houses and where the guide tells you.
Water needs to be cleaned. You can use filters, you can use tablets. 1 tablet per litre of water. For example, if you drink 3 litres of water per day, then you have to get 3 * 17 = 51tablets
Water purification tablets can also be bought in Kathmandu.
2. Hygiene
Inconvenient, but important question. You need to drink a lot of water, transitions between guesthouses are about 3-4 hours. What to do if I want to use the toilet? Use bushes?
Answer
The route will come across big and small teahouses. You can use toilet there.
In any case, do not hesitate to ask a guide.
3. Kathmandu
Will I have time to walk around Kathmandu? Will the guide accompany me?
Answer
In Kathmandu there will be time on the day of arrival. Then you can take a walk, change money (there will be no exchangers on the route). By the way, changing money is more profitable in exchangers. Banks take merciless interest, commissions, ATMs even worse. Therefore, upon arrival, ask our managers where the best nearest exchanger is, they will tell you everything.
Your guide is a mountain guide. But if you want, we can arrange a guide for you for Kathmandu. It will cost $ 25-30 per day depending on the number of places you want to visit.
4. Pokhara
Guide will take me to flight In Pokhara? Is this included in the price?
Answer
Yes, you age going to paraglide (*individual tour) and the guide will accompany you
5. Payment
How should I pay for trekking? Can I do it after arrival, in cash or with a bank card?
Answer
It’s easier to pay in cash - dollars or euros, as you wish. You can use a card, but then you will have to cover the bank fee 4%.
You pay to our managers, who you will meet on the day of arrival.
6. Warranties
Will I get some kind of a contract?
Answer
Yes, if you want to sign a contract, we will be happy to do it, no problem
7. Costs on the route
To understand how much to change to the local currency.
For water, shower, charging ... Something else
Answer
We recommend having pocket money about $10 per day, in local currency.
8. Tipping
Should I leave tips in dollars or in the local currency?
Answer
Any tips are pleasant, so as you prefer
9. Insurance World Nomads
If I understand correctly, I can choose any, Standard or Explorer - helicopter evacuation is included in both of them?
In case of evacuation by helicopter, a deductible must be paid. Do I need to have money for that in cash or is it possible to pay by card or is an invoice issued later? I hope that it will not be needed at all though

10. Backpack
Things that the porter will carry, do they need to be packed in a large convenient backpack that he will carry, or does he have his own backpack, and can things be brought in any bag?
Answer
The porter will have his own backpack.
Therefore, you can bring your things in any bag convenient for you.
Excess baggage you can leave at our office in Kathmandu.
For trekking you will need a small backpack for yourself, because the porter is faster than you, and you probably would like to have some small things with you - documents, cameras, hygiene products and similar.
